One-piece Swimsuit Style

Happy St. Patty’s all! Years ago, I celebrated this day with debauchery. Today, not only am I pregnant but I’ve been sober for two and a half years and I’ve never felt better. However you choose to celebrate– have fun and be safe!

Now that I got that off my chest, I want to talk to you about a more lighthearted topic–swimsuits. I can’t remember the last time I wore a one-piece swimsuit. If I had to guess, I was elementary school-aged. My best friend’s bachelorette is a few weeks after my due date, though, so this summer it will be time to step into a one-piece.

I’m already nervous about how self-conscious I’ll be but I’m confident I’ll already have made strides toward my old body. Here are my top picks so far:

What do you think?

A Peek into my Secret Pinning

At first glance it might seem like I don’t pin much. But that’s far from the truth. Truth is I’m on Pinterest a lot… but mainly pinning to my account‘s secret boards.
Before becoming pregnant, I had around two secret boards. One was for gift ideas for others, which I wouldn’t them to see. Another was for wedding details and decor. The number of secret boards I had drastically increased when I found out I was having a baby. In the beginning, I didn’t want to give away our secret so I hid the baby board I started when my baby fever struck. But now, I don’t want to bombard everyone with baby pins. Plus, it’s kind of fun planning things without giving any details away. In fact, I used Pinterest to plan our whole sex reveal and it was really helpful.
Without further ado, here are some of my favorite hidden boards:

Obviously there are fun non-pregnancy ones too, like a bachelorette board (for one of my best friends) but I can’t reveal those in case she is reading 😉

This Week

Filed Under: househunting, pregnancy // February 26, 2016

I was without my phone for twelve hours, twice. It was actually glorious and freeing. I didn’t feel like I was attached to technology all. day. long.

I took the NY bar exam, again. I’m hoping this was my last time but I do know I did not prepare nearly as much as I have in the past. With other life changes, namely pregnancy and house hunting, my study schedule was not ideal. But positive vibes only!

I realized we will probably not buy a home this year. It’s been a tough realization but house hunting in the most expensive real estate city in the U.S. is even tougher. Regardless, we’ve saved a bunch over the last few months and I’m just excited to make a place our home in time for the baby.

Valentine’s Day Weekend 2016

Filed Under: Marriage, pregnancy // February 15, 2016

This Valentine’s Day was our last as a family of two… and we couldn’t be happier about that. But we also know it is important to treasure each other before Baby L is added to the mix. So we did “us” things.

We went to an Open House.

We did some registry things at Babies R Us.

We went out to dinner Saturday and ordered in Sunday before going to see Deadpool late Sunday night.

We snuggled and enjoyed each other.
I love that Valentine’s Day is about love because I love love. (See what I mean? I just used the word love four times in one sentence.) And I think it’s important to let our loved ones know–and show them–just how cherished they are.

Love Week: Preparing to Become Parents

Each day it seems I love my husband more. But the love we share right now during this amazing journey is so much stronger and different than before. We are preparing to become parents together. We are making crucial decisions together. And soon enough we will raise and shape the life of our very own child together.

We have been very fortunate to have traveled the world and to have experienced new and exciting things. But this has surely been the greatest time of our lives yet. I am so glad we get to be on this road with one another and to welcome our beautiful baby boy in a few months.

I hope we look back at these precious memories whenever times get tough and remember just how sweet life is together.

I love you, forever and ever.
