Moments of Musing

Welcome To MOM’s New Website

Filed Under: blog, moments of musing, Uncategorized // March 23, 2022

new website, mom influencer, blog, latina mom

Hi everyone! Welcome to my new website for the Moments of Musing (MOM) influencer business. As you can see, the design is very different than any of my previous sites. I finally made the switch from Blogger to WordPress for reasons including website functionality and improved SEO.

Though this change was years in the making, it was a big decision that felt overwhelming so I kept putting it off. One of my 2022 business goals was to finally see it through, though, and I’m happy I did.

Why the rebrand?

To celebrate 5 years of Moments of Musing (MOM) and the direction in which it’s moving! It’s crazy to think it’s been 5 whole years since I officially rebranded to MOM and went public with my blog.

Who designed my new website for MOM influencer business?

While I purchased the theme, I installed and personalized it on my own, which has been a fun learning experience. (wpbeginner took care of the migration of all files.)

What’s new?

I have a new logo (it’s the period after Moments of Musing and much more visible on my LinkedIn). I have also opened up consultation and website installation services.

Is anything else different?

I am not sure if anyone has noticed but I have been trying to feature my children less in my Instagram content, especially ads. As time has gone on and they are growing up, I feel a stronger “mama bear” instinct to protect them and their privacy. I am also editing my photo truer to color and reality. I deleted all of my the presets I used to apply to my photos and now use more natural editing, mainly for lighting/brightening purposes.

Who took the branding photos?

My husband, Tim, took my photos. When discussing photographer or camera options, Tim offered to learn more about our Nikon and take the photos for me. I am so happy we went this route – the photos mean a bit more now!

What plans do you have for Moments of Musing in 2022?

2021 was my most “successful” year business-wise but I was very stressed juggling my nonprofit work along with my Moments of Musing projects and taking care of my kiddos. Therefore, my main 2022 business goals are to grow and to outsource tasks that I could use some help with. As such, Tim has become more involved behind-the-scenes to help me grow and manage my business.

All in all, I am excited for what this year has in store!

Do you have any professional goals for 2022 that you are working on?

Baby’s Big Messes

This shop has been compensated by Inmar Intelligence and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #waterwipestexturedclean #texturedclean

How has our littlest baby been with us over two months?! Time sure does fly! As a third-time mom, I am trying to slow down and appreciate every moment because I know just how precious this stage is.

This stage is also pretty messy. There is constant spit up — his pediatrician calls him a “happy spitter” — and constant dirty diapers. I am well aware, though, that as he grows so too will the mess! I know because his older brothers have prepped me pretty well for the constant mess that awaits! There will be messy eating, potty training, arts and crafts, and so on.

I’m excited my favorite brand of baby wipes, WaterWipes has new textured wipes to clean babies’ bigger messes. WaterWipes Textured Clean wipes can tackle messes wherever they occur as babies transition from newborn to toddler and beyond. I make sure to keep packs around the house, including the nursery nook stand, the kitchen and the living room.

WaterWipes Textured Clean are the World’s Purest Baby Wipes, containing just two simple ingredients: water and fruit extract. They contain 99.9% water and drop of fruit and berry extract for natural cleansing power. Ideal for use on hands, face and bottoms.

WaterWipes Textured Clean are safe for sensitive skin. My middle kiddo has skin irritations so it’s especially nice to know that WaterWipes Textured Clean has been awarded the Seal of Acceptance by the National Eczema Association.

You can buy WaterWipes Textured Clean at your local Walmart in-store, via pickup or via delivery.

Menu Planning + 1 Month Plant-Based!

This post has been sponsored by Cinch! but all opinion are my own.

It’s already been about a month since my husband and I have adopted a plant-based diet! I have kept it kind of on the down-low because I am not one to really share what I eat and I do not want to seemingly impose my dietary beliefs on anyone else.

That being said, we’ve really enjoyed this time. I have always joked I could do it because I’ve never been a huge fan of meat. So when Tim mentioned cutting meat and dairy from our diets, I didn’t really think twice. I sort of had been waiting for the day he’d be open to it haha! Having him on board for such a big change is a huge help to stay on track.

Another big help is meal planning! It’s so much more efficient for grocery shopping and when it comes to dinner time. Our dinner meals are usually plant-based for the whole family (though our kids still consume some meat and dairy), so it’s nice to see what’s for dinner each day of the week rather than scrambling to put dishes together at the last minute.

The Cinch! Magnetic Dry Erase Menu Board has been especially useful for menu planning. It has a cute design with bright neon liquid chalk markers that erase effortlessly with a paper towel or napkin. It has dedicated spaces for each day of the week to help lay out our meals, a grocery list area and a to do list portion so we can be prepared and organized together. If my husband is wondering what to pick up from the grocery store or I’m trying to remember what’s for dinner, all we have to do is check the board. Use code 10MOMENTS for 10% off Cinch! products on Amazon (for a limited time).

I should note that we’re a pretty flexible family, so our menu is never rigid. We order out some days and change up what we want others but having a drawing board to bounce off of rather than a blank slate each dinner time helps a ton. I think every family could find this Cinch! menu board helpful!

New Road Trip Snacks for My Kids

This post is sponsored by Simple Mills. All opinions are my own.

The days are getting longer, the sun is starting to shine and flowers are starting to bloom! Spring is finally here!

In the meantime, I still like to try to get my kids to experience new activities and foods even though we are home much more.

We recently went on a road trip down South and I packed a few new snacks I was excited for my kids to try out.  I’ve been wanting to try Simple Mills products, and their Almond Flour Crackers and Soft Baked Bars are yummy and full of nut & seed flour. Even the Bars have real fruit pieces! That’s a win-win when trying to feed littles new foods.

I used to use almond flour often for baking and cooking so I was pretty excited to introduce these fun new grain-free snacks to my children. They’re conveniently packed so they’re great to bring on-the-go or to eat at home.

The Almond Flour Crackers are tasty snack crackers made with a blend of almond and seed flour. The Soft Baked Bars, naturally sweetened with honey & molasses, are full of nuts, seeds, and fruit pieces for a delicious blend of textures and flavors.

The kid-approved snacks are available at Walmart and right now you can save with cashback offers from iBotta HERE. Who doesn’t like to save money when grocery shopping? I know I do! Plus, if you’re looking for even more convenience, you can add both of these products to your next Walmart Online Pickup and Delivery order HERE.

Quick & Yummy Easter Bunny Applesauce Waffles

applesauce, applesauce waffles, bunny waffles, waffles

This post is sponsored by Musselman’s Applesauce but all opinions are my own.

Mornings are generally hectic in our house. It’s a mad dash to the beginning of the work day for me and my husband and school day for S, while simultaneously trying to keep up with my toddler and make breakfast for everyone.

That’s why simple yet delicious breakfasts are my favorite. My new applesauce waffle recipe, using Musselman’s applesauce, was a hit among the boys, husband included. Their 100% American apples are sourced from family farms!

I added some cinnamon apples as Easter Bunny ears, and used the thickened sauce in lieu of traditional maple syrup.

It’s safe to say I plan to add it permanently into our breakfast rotation!

Applesauce waffle ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup Musselman’s Applesauce (healthy substitute for butter or oil)

    • I chose Musselman’s Cinnamon Applesauce for this recipe but you can use any of their varieties

  • 1/3 cup water

  • 1 cup pre-made waffle batter

Recipe:

1. Mix the batter, water and applesauce.

2. Pour into waffle maker

3. Cook until waffle maker signals waffles are done (5-7 minutes).

Cinnamon apple topping ingredients:

  • 1 apple sliced

  • 1/4 cup water

  • 1 tablespoon of flour

  • A pinch of cinnamon

Recipe:

1. Peel and slice apple.

2. Place water and apple into a skillet pan.

3. Add cinnamon and mix.

4. Add flour and mix.

5. Let simmer for 5-10 minutes, or until apples are softened.
