Welcome 2014, We’ve Been Waiting for You

Back in 2011, we had a few tear-free see you laters.  They were our very first ones. Yesterday was my first tear-free “see you later” since 2011, quite possibly because this is the year the thousands of miles of distance and months apart ends.

This is the year we’ve been waiting 3 years for.
This is the year we move in together, permanently.
This is the year we become Mr. & Mrs.

I didn’t think 2013 could be topped, but for all of the above reasons I firmly believe 2014 will do just that.

Happy New Year!

What. A. Year!

2013 was AMAZING — and I don’t kid when I say it was my best year yet. I don’t think I can adequately put how great the year was into words so I’m going to break it down month-by-month with the help of photos.

January
After seven months apart, Tim and I were able to ring in the new year together (fortunately, we’ve been able to ring in the new year together every year) and celebrate 2 years of dating.

February
Tim and I won a pretty cool contest — the prizes of which were being treated to dinner and drinks in Bryant Park NYC, and a round-trip Southwest Airlines ticket!

March
My family joined me for a trip to Hawaii! I am so happy they were able to experience the Aloha state together with me and Tim.

April
I got back from Hawaii and hopped on a plane to NC for a law school competition a few days later.

May
This was a BIG month. I received two job offers, made a decision, and graduated law school!

June
I ran my first obstacle mud run with two of my best friends and LOVED it!

July
I studied 12-14 hours a day for the bar exam and finally took it on the last two days of the month.

August
This was a really fun month. I went apartment hunting in Chicago, celebrated my 25th Birthday with some of my (and THE) best friends and hopped on a plane later in August to Hawaii for two months!

September
Tim and I were enjoying spending time with one another in Hawaii, and kicked off September on the Big Island.

October
This was another BIG month. I found out I passed the bar exam, moved to Chicago, and was sworn in as an attorney!

November
This month was really exciting. After nearly three years of dating, Tim and I headed back to where it all began — Las Vegas, he proposed and I said YES!!! I also said Yes to my dress with the help of my mom, aunt, grandma, brother and maid of honor. And we picked a date and venue.

December
Tim came home for the holidays! We celebrated Christmas together, surprised his family in Michigan and took engagement photos, which we are anxiously awaiting the final product of.

Wishing you all fabulous and safe New Year celebrations! See ya on the flipside — in 2014 😉

Our “First” Christmas

Well it was more like our 3rd but this year was our first engaged and away-from-family Christmas… And it was a success!

T monogrammed an ivory candle, which we’ll be using or displaying at our wedding — swooooon!
Hope yours were just as fun and your last weekend of 2013 (p.s. this year FLEW) is amazing!

The Greatest Gift

Tim is home for the holidays — it’s the greatest gift I could’ve asked for.

Speaking of Tim, here are his answers to last week’s Boys Behind the Blog questions. He kept it to the point and sweet, something I’ve always admired about him.
1. What is your favorite cereal?
Cinnamon Toast Crunch {Mine too!}

2. Pancakes or waffles?
Pancakes

3. What is your favorite holiday tradition?
Trick-or-treating

4. Finish the sentence: All I want for Christmas is…
You (Jackie) by my side

5. What was your best moment of 2013?
Vegas {where we got engaged, duh!}
From us to you, Merry Christmas!

Joy

I’ll be doing something I normally don’t like doing — wishing the day away because I see Tim tonight.  And Christmas Eve officially begins at midnight!! My heart is bursting with happiness. Happy happy JOY JOY!

If you want a glimpse into how I’ll be feeling watch these videos. Our service men and women sacrifice much time away from family so to have them home for the holidays is a blessing. The holidays are for celebrating with loved ones and I am so excited to get to celebrate them with my other half.

Every amazing butterfly-filled hello makes up for every  tear-filled see you later. I hope you all  get to enjoy your time with loved ones these holidays.
