It’s Okay … I’ve Got a Crush On You!

I’ve learned that it’s okay to put your feelings out there for people whom you do not know to read about. It really helps to vent. And it’s been wonderful connecting with women that I probably never would have met if it wasn’t for blogging.

I love all of the blogs I follow and that follow me but if I’d have to pick my *crushes* they’d be:

Becoming a Navy Wife

YOUR BLOG NAME

Julie & I would make great in-real-life friends. She’s such a caring & funny person and we connected right away. We both share a love for Penn State and Hawaii. She was lucky enough to live there for a year, and while I’m sad we won’t cross paths there, I’m excited for her & her hubby’s new adventure in California πŸ™‚

The Adventures of Our Army Life

FROFD

Jen is a sweetheart. I love reading her inspirational posts or learning about a new recipe from her. Most of all, I admire her strength.

Lounging with Lindsey

Lindsey is funny. Her baby and little family is adorable. She & I share bad allergies, as well as a love of the same brand face cleanser & reading.

They are just all so sweet and have made my (quite new) blogging experience so great. I look forward to visiting their blogs just about everyday πŸ™‚

A Winter Without UGGs

If you look in my shoe closet you’ll find flats, rain boots, tennis shoes, sneakers, heels … But ::gasp:: no UGGs.
They’re missing from my shoe collection because I threw away my old pairs last year and then swore I wouldn’t be an UGG wearer again. . . Well, let me tell you all – don’t do it. This winter has been a chilly one and I have, on many an occasion, whined that I wished I had UGGs in my closet. Why did I swear off UGGs? Because I thought they were too pricey. You see, I am a poor law student and I’ve wanted more valuable things from my parents and T, such as money for Hawaii trips or an iPad mini … priorities, priorities. And I thought UGGs are not fashionable enough for being so pricey.
But I must’ve forgotten the reason why I’ve loved them all these years – their comfort and warmth. Since it’s already nearing March, I am not buying a pair and I am happy I can say that I successfully went a winter without succumbing to the UGG fad. But that success will be shortlived because you bet ya bottom dollar, I’ll be buying and wearing a pair (or two) next winter! (I will also be investing in good leather boots because buying cheap, low quality ones every year adds up.)
Okay, that’s the most I’ve ever said “UGGs” in my life!

Hope you’re all staying warm πŸ™‚

What a Pain in the Neck!

Both literally and figuratively.
I finally went to the doctor after having neck and back pain since  the end of October. Well, I happen to have 3 bulging disks and muscle spasm(s) in my neck. I haven’t had an MRI of my back but it hurts so I’m sure I have some there, too. Now, this is better than my worst fear of what was wrong when I was suffering from headache, ear aches, chest pains and tingling in my arm so I’m not complaining too, too much. I’m keeping perspective, remember? πŸ™‚

I am bummed, though, because I can’t really work out. So I am putting myself on a diet. Sad Jackie is sad. I don’t really like “dieting” but I don’t want to get out of shape. Beginning today, I am dropping rice and sweets from my diet. Next week, I will drop flour. I’m nervous because I haven’t “dieted” in quite a while. Wish me luck!

What Gal Doesn’t Love Sexy Panties?

I came across this blog posting (http://www.pinklouloulove.com/2012/12/santa-drops-panties.html) in December and thought it would be super fun to do with my girlfriends. But December was a hectic month with finals, T’s leave and holidays so we decided to have a Valentine’s Day Themed Ladies’ Night Panty Party. Here are some pictures from last night:

Most ladies bought VS panties πŸ™‚ We all picked numbers out of a hat. #1 went first and picked the person whose present (panties) she wanted to open. Then #2 picked and so on. Girls with higher numbers could “steal” someone else’s already opened panties if they liked them more, essentially forcing the girl whose panties she likes more to switch with her.

We then played some games for prizes. I made the above game – “Girl Talk Jar.” You pick a popsicle stick and ask the gal to your left the question (from “What is your #1 purse essential? to “What is your biggest pet peeve that guys do?”) on the stick. That person can give you up to 3 clue words and then whoever guesses the answer first gets 1 point. First person to 5 pts wins a prize. We also played Valentine’s Day-themed Bingo πŸ™‚ I came home with sexy love dice ;), a nail filer and a nail polish. Plus, a VS lip gloss and chocolates in my goody bag πŸ™‚

And then we ate and drank the night away πŸ™‚

Mini beef empanadas I made for the night
It was a great night filled with lots of fun and was just what I needed as a pick me up from these last few days!
